Shooter Leads Police To Victim After Botched South Philly Carjacking, Authorities Say

One man was shot and killed in South Philadelphia early Tuesday morning in what police say they're investigating as a possible carjacking.

It happened on the 1400 block of South Water Street around 5 a.m. on Dec. 26, authorities told Daily Voice. 

The shooter spoke with responding officers and led them to the victim, who was unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the stomach, PPD said. He was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later, they added. 

Investigators did not report the victim's name but said he was between 18 and 22. 

The shooter, 38, had not been charged as of late Tuesday morning, authorities said. Homicide detectives are investigating.
